Demand for software developers in South Africa increased 38% since Jan

Mybroadband is reporting that software development is the most sought-after skill in the local job market and that demand for software developers has increased by 38% since Jan according to CareerJunction ‘s May Index; with average monthly salaries of approximately R50k.

ITWeb is similarly reporting on high demand for developers, and has handy breakdowns of the most popular languages and technologies that developers are currently interested in. (Just be aware that the ITWeb article is based on a survey of developers so is not 100% the same thing as what companies are looking for!)
