Design Thinking is a mindset. Design thinking is about believing we can make a difference, and having an intentional process in order to get to new, relevant solutions that create positive impact. Design Thinking gives you faith in your creative abilities and a process for transforming difficult challenges into opportunities for design.
In this tech-driven future we are moving into, we believe it is critical to be able to recognise how, when and where technology solutions can be implemented intelligently and appropriately. We therefore believe that a practical approach to learning and applying the tools in the real world is needed. Design Thinking is such a tool as it involves the re-framing of problems in human-centric ways, creating as many ideas as possible through brainstorming sessions, and adopting a hands-on approach in prototyping and testing. Understanding these five stages of Design Thinking will empower anyone to apply the Design Thinking methods in order to solve complex problems that occur around us — in our companies, in our country, and even on the scale of our planet. We will focus on the five-stage Design Thinking model proposed by the Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (d.school).
